  • 18 Jul 2017 - ALMATY, 18 July 2017 – A training seminar “Institutional Mechanisms of Transboundary Water Cooperation” was organized on 17-18 July 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, by the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in cooperation with the Regional Environmental Center for Central Asia (CAREC) with financial support of the U.S. Government.
  • 27 Jun 2017 - On June 27, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General for Central Asia and Head of UNRCCA Petko Draganov briefed the UN Security Council on peace and security developments in Central Asia over the past six months. On this occasion, he reported on the implementation of the Centre’s mandate and on the UNRCCA’s activities during this period.
  • 22 Jun 2017 - A two-day regional seminar entitled “The role of women and youth in conflict prevention in Central Asia” concluded on June 20, 2017 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. The event was organized by the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in cooperation with the UN-Women Multi-country Office of in Central Asia (UN-Women) and the Regional Office of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA) for Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
  • Mini-Dublin Group meeting in Ashgabat

    15 Jun 2017 - On 14 June, UNRCCA hosted a Mini-Dublin Group (informal co-ordination group of like-minded countries on the fight against illicit drugs) meeting in Ashgabat. This was the fifth mini-Dublin Group meeting hosted by the Centre and chaired by the Italian Embassy in Ashgabat. Representatives of law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan, the diplomatic community as well as UNDP and the OSCE attended the meeting.

    13 Jun 2017 - Ashgabat, 13 June 2017 – Today, United Nations Secretary-General Mr. António Guterres chaired a “High-Level United Nations-Central Asian Dialogue on Implementing the United Nations Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia”. On this occasion, ministers of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan adopted a Joint Declaration on strengthening regional collaboration to counter-terrorism.
