UNRCCA HOSTS A MINI-DUBLIN GROUP MEETING

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan:

On 11 June, UNRCCA hosted a Mini-Dublin Group (MDG) meeting in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan – an informal co-ordination group of like-minded countries on fight against illicit drugs. The Italian Embassy in Ashgabat chaired the second per year 2019 regular MDG meeting where participants, aiming to coordinate better their efforts, shared information about their forthcoming activities against illicit drugs trafficking.  Apart from relevant Embassies, representatives of law enforcement agencies of Turkmenistan as well as several UN entities, EU and the OSCE attended the meeting. 

In his opening remarks, UNRCCA Senior Political Affairs Officer Mr. Philipp Saprykin underlined that a crucial factor in implementing anti-narcotics strategy is the political will of the States themselves for a result-oriented cooperation.
