SEMINAR “REGIONAL COOPERATION AS A FACTOR FOR PEACE AND STABILITY IN CENTRAL ASIA”

An international seminar titled “Regional Cooperation as a Factor for Peace and Stability in Central Asia” took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 20-21 November 2014.

The seminar was focused on the evolution of regional cooperation since the independence of Central Asian states and analysis of internal and external factors that influence regional processes. Participants also discussed ways to address regional challenges through strengthening interaction between Central Asian countries.

The event was organized as a part of series of strategic dialogues conducted by the United Nations Regional Centre with the expert community in Central Asia. Representatives of institutes of strategic studies and other governmental institutions from Central Asian and neighboring countries, regional organizations and independent experts participated in the seminar.
