Mr. Kaha Imnadze
SPECIAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE UN SECRETARY-GENERAL FOR CENTRAL ASIA, HEAD OF THE UN REGIONAL CENTRE FOR PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY FOR CENTRAL ASIA (UNRCCA)

Kaha Imnadze assumed the post of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) on 14 June 2023. He was appointed by Secretary-General António Guterres, succeeding Ms. Natalia Gherman.
Mr. Imnadze brings more than 30 years of experience in diplomacy, international relations, negotiation and mediation, foreign and security policy, conflict resolution, and political risk assessment. Most recently, from 2022 to 2023, Mr. Imnadze served as Ambassador of Georgia to Canada and as Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). Prior to that, he served as Ambassador and as Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations from 2013 to 2022. From 2012 to 2013, he was a Board Member of the Georgian Political Science Association. Between 2009 and 2013, he served as Program Director of the Georgian Institute for Russian Studies. From 2000 to 2003, he was Assistant to the President and Spokesman, as well as Director of the Georgian State Information Service. He also served as Deputy Secretary of the National Security Council of Georgia from 1998 to 2000. Between 1994 and 1998, he was Deputy Chief of the Mission of Georgia to NATO and to the Embassy to the BENELUX countries.
Mr. Imnadze holds a master’s degree in English Language and Literature from Tbilisi State University.
He speaks Georgian (native), English, Russian and French.
Mr. Imnadze is married and has one daughter.
