An international seminar «Central Asia and global challenges», organized by the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), took place in Ashgabat on 10-11 March, 2009.
On 15 January, UNRCCA Representative visited the OSCE Academy in Bishkek to deliver a lecture on the role of the UNRCCA in preventive diplomacy in Central Asia for the students and faculty of the Academy. During the lecture the focus was given to the challenges faced by the Central Asian region and the role of UNRCCA in addressing them.
On 5 November, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General Miroslav Jenča visited American University in Central Asia and delivered a lecture on the role of the preventive diplomacy in Central Asia development. The lecture was conducted on the sidelines of his official trip to Kyrgyz Republic.
