TASHKENT, Uzbekistan –

On 25 February, Miroslav Jenča, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia, during his visit to Tashkent, held a meeting with Zhang Xinfeng, the Director of the Executive Committee of SCO Regional Counter-Terrorism Structure (RCTS).

Discussions focused on current security developments in the region, trans-boundary threats in the context of the upcoming drawdown of ISAF in Afghanistan in 2014, as well as interaction between RCTS, UNRCCA and relevant UN agencies and bodies in various aspects, including in the framework of the second phase of the project aimed at the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy.
