UNRCCA hosts meeting with UN Resident Coordinators in Central Asian countries

ASTANA, Kazakhstan–

On 13-14 November in Astana, Kazakhstan the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General in Central Asia and Head of UNRCCA, Miroslav Jenča, hosted a meeting with UN Resident Coordinators in Central Asian states. The meeting was attended by five UN Resident Coordinators from all Central Asian countries as well as Ms. Kori Udovički, Director of the UNDP/RBEC, Mr. Oscar Fernandez-Taranco, Assistant Secretary-General/DPA, senior representatives of UNRCCA and UNDP/RBEC and experts.

The event provided an opportunity to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between UN Country Teams and UNRCCA in Central Asian region in identifying problems with significant conflict potential and improving the UN's overall conflict prevention capacity on the ground.
