ALMATY, Kazakhstan -

SRSG Jenča travelled to Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 21 July, to take part in the third expert meeting of the project on implementing the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia.

The event is co-organized by the UN Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) and the European Union working with the UNRCCA. Participants from Central Asian countries, UN agencies and regional organizations discussed measures to build states' capacity to prevent and combat terrorism and to strengthen the role of the United Nations system in this regard. The meeting ended with recommendations for the elaboration of an Action Plan on the implementation of the UN Strategy in Central Asia.
