WASHINGTON DC, USA –

In connection with his regular briefing to the United Nations Security Council, SRSG Miroslav Jenča, visited Washington DC on 17-18 July, where he met with Robert O. Blake, Assistant Secretary of State, and William R. Keating, a Congressman to the United States House of Representatives.

During the meetings issues related to the implementation of UNRCCA's mandate were discussed, notably the management of water resources and ecological challenges in the region, the implementation of the counterterrorism project, and implications of the withdrawal of international troops and contributing to the security in Afghanistan after 2014.
