KABUL, Afghanistan -

On 5-6 August, Head of UNRCCA, SRSG Miroslav Jenča visited Kabul to meet with H.E. Zalmai Rassoul, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, SRSG Kubiš, Head of UNAMA and international partners.

The sides discussed current situation and possible developments in Afghanistan and the whole region of Central Asia, joint efforts to counter threats to peace and security, regional cooperation with focus on socio-economic projects and engagement of international community in peace building processes. In this respect progress of Istanbul process was assessed.
