Publication “Sustainable Development: A Key Factor for Stability and Peace in Central Asia”

The UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia has issued a new publication entitled “Sustainable Development: A Key Factor For Stability And Peace In Central Asia”.

This publication represents a compilation of materials of the international seminar “Sustainable Development: A Key Factor For Stability And Peace In Central Asia”, which was organized by the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in cooperation with the Government of Finland on 1-2 March, 2012 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The seminar was attended by the representatives of the international organizations and institutes of strategic studies of the Central Asian states.

Speeches and presentations contained in the publication cover a range of topical problems faced by Central Asia such as the concepts of sustainable development, regional cooperation and security and other factors of sustainable development in the Social Sector.

The publication is expected to be of interest to diplomats, state officials, academic circles and political analysts of Central Asian states and the international expert community that follows up on developments in the region.
