Participation at event dedicated to 10th Anniversary of SCO/RATS and lecture delivered at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy

Miroslav Jenča, Special Representative of the UN Secretary General (SRSG) and Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), was invited to take part in an event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Executive Committee of the Regional Anti-terrorism Structure of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO/RATS).
 
During his stay in Tashkent on 16-17 June 2014 the SRSG held meetings with the Deputy Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan Mr. Vahabov and a number of senior officials of the SCO RATS, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. The sides exchanged views on challenges and trends in Central Asia particularly focusing on the trans-boundary water management and counter-terrorism.

The SRSG also delivered a lecture at the University of World Economy and Diplomacy on the UN preventive diplomacy efforts in Central Asia and the interaction with regional organizations.
