SRSG Jenča held meetings on 17 and 20 May with high level MFA officials from France, including Secretary of State for European Affairs, Mr. Pierre Lellouche.

The situation in Kyrgyzstan was discussed, in particular challenges facing the Interim Government, and cooperation with regional organizations and bilateral partners to harmonize positions and ensure streamlining of efforts. The visit of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon to Central Asia, last April, was also mentioned as well as UNRCCA follow up activities, the situation in Afghanistan, the connection between drug-trafficking and terrorism, and problems associated with the management of common natural resources.
