Seminar “Regional Cooperation as a Factor for Peace and Stability in Central Asia”

was admitted by the Head of UNRCCA, SRSG Miroslav Jenča in his opening remarks to an international seminar “Regional Cooperation as a Factor for Peace and Stability in Central Asia”, which took place in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on 20-21 November.

The seminar was focused on the evolution of regional cooperation since the independence of Central Asian states and analysis of internal and external factors that influence regional processes. Participants also discussed ways to address regional challenges through strengthening interaction between Central Asian countries.

The event was organized as a part of series of strategic dialogues conducted by the United Nations Regional Centre with the expert community in Central Asia. Representatives of institutes of strategic studies and other governmental institutions from Central Asian and neighboring countries, regional organizations and independent experts participated in the seminar.
