Within the framework of its mandate and goals, the Centre organized the Round Table "Preventive diplomacy as an instrument to deliver results in support of security and stability in the world" presented by Ambassador Mehmet Levent Bilman, Director of the Policy and Mediation Division of the UN Secretariat.

The event took place in the premises of UNRCCA in Ashgabat. Ambassadors, senior officials of regional and international organizations accredited in Ashgabat, as well as students and teachers of the Institute of International Relations took part at the seminar. "Vatan", "Nesil", "Neutral Turkmenistan", "Turkmen State News" among Mass media representatives attended the event. Coverage of the event and after-event interviews was taken by TV-4 Channel of Turkmenistan.

Ambassador Bilman covered issues related to the preventive diplomacy, such as major tools and instruments that Department for Political Affairs and UN in general uses in supporting and maintaining peace, security and stability in the world, as well as collaboration with other important stakeholders in reaching out the solid goal of saving lives. He emphasized the importance of having UNRCCA in the region and discussed the launch of the new Guidance for Effective Mediation and its importance to the regional organizations and individual states in addressing political, security, economic and social challenges.
