The Secretary-General met with H.E. Mr. Kairat Abdrakhmanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Secretary-General and the Foreign Minister exchanged views on Kazakhstan’s priorities during its upcoming presidency of the Security Council.

They discussed the Astana Process and its achievements, while underscoring the lead role of the Geneva political process. They also touched upon developments in Central Asia.

The Foreign Minister expressed strong support for the United Nations reforms launched by the Secretary-General.
