Elections should be accepted by people to stabilize the situation- Jenča

ASTANA, Kazakhstan

To stabilize the situation in Kyrgyzstan, the results of presidential elections should be accepted by the people, UN Secretary- General’s Special Representative Miroslav Jenca said, as reported by KirTag.

“I think its very important to ensure the transparency and democracy of elections in Kyrgyzstan so that election results would be accepted by people, and also these elections would help stabilize the country”, Jenca said after a meeting with Yerzhan Kazykhanov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan on Wednesday.

According to Jenca, “Kyrgyzstan has a full potential to organize such elections”.

“The UN with its projects and programs helps Kyrgyzstan overcome the difficulties on this path. We are working intensively to ensure that the elections would be open and democratic”, said Special Representative of UN Secretary- General.
