On 12-14 September, SRSG Miroslav Jenča together with UNRCCA Political Officer Armands Pupols traveled to Brussels to meet with EU and NATO representatives and to brief the EU Political and Security Committee. During the visit developments the stability and security issues in Central Asian region and further cooperation with EU and NATO were discussed.

SRSG Jenča traveled to Astana, Kazakhstan, on 22 July, for meetings with Kazakh Foreign Minister Yerzhan Kazykhanov and other senior Kazakhs officials.
Discussions touched upon the current political and security situation in the country as well as preparations for the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence.

The meeting, which gathered over 20 women human rights activists from Central Asian countries, touched upon opportunities to strengthen women's contribution to peace building, conflict prevention and recovery.
