KABUL, Afghanistan -

On 19-21 April, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Petko Draganov, visited Kabul and had meetings with Deputy Foreign Minister of Afghanistan Hekmat Khalil Karzai, senior representatives of UNAMA and UNODC, as well as Ambassadors from Central Asia and other key countries.

Talks focused on current developments in Afghanistan and the wider region, the promotion of regional interaction and cooperation, and the engagement of Central Asian states in the stabilization of the situation in Afghanistan. Joint efforts to counter threats to peace and security and support human development in the region were also discussed.
