TASHKENT, Uzbekistan

As part of his working visit to Uzbekistan to participate in the Termez Dialogue, SRSG Kaha Imnadze, met with Ms. Tanzila Narbaeva, Chairperson of the Senate of Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan on 19 May in Tashkent.

During the meeting, the two exchanged views on the role of the Central Asian Women Leaders’ Caucus (CAWLC) in promoting preventive diplomacy and regional cooperation in Central Asia. They underlined the importance of ensuring sustainability and continued institutional development of the platform to advance peace and security, sustainable development, and promotion of human rights in the region.

The discussion also touched upon the engagement of the CAWLC with Afghanistan in these areas of shared concern. It was noted that Uzbekistan is expected to assume the rotational chairmanship of the Caucus in 2026, providing an opportunity to further strengthen the platform’s contributions to regional dialogue and collaboration.
