HAMBURG, Germany -

Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), PetkoDraganov, headed the UN delegation to the 23rd OSCE Ministerial Meeting in Hamburg on 8-9 December.

On behalf of the UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, the SRSG addressed the OSCE Ministerial with a message stressing the advanced partnership between the UN and the OSCE and underlining the important role which the OSCE plays in confidence-building and conflict resolution in the region. On the sidelines of the meeting Mr. Draganov held talks with senior Central Asian and OSCE representatives and exchanged views on the current situation and potential developments in Central Asia. Joint activities addressing security related challenges were also discussed.
