On the occasion of its fifth anniversary the United Nations Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) has published a brochure entitled “The United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia: Five Years”.

This publication represents a compilation of materials, speeches, presentations and academic papers for the international conference “Neutrality and Preventive Diplomacy: Bases for Peace and Security”, which was co-organized by the Government of Turkmenistan and the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia on 11 December 2012 in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan. The conference provided an opportunity to review lessons learnt through the activities of UNRCCA and similar UN regional structures, exchange views on preventive diplomacy as innovative tool in conflict resolution in the modern world and ways to strengthen its efficiency in the future.

The conference was attended by the President of Turkmenistan, Senior State officials, high-ranking representatives of the United Nations, other international and regional organizations, academics, experts and political analysts.
