ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan –

On 21 April, Ambassador Miroslav Jenča, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the United Nations Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), was received by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, on the occasion of the completion of his mission in Central Asia.

The President expressed high appreciation of activities carried out by UNRCCA and emphasized the importance of the Centre for the region, and its active role in addressing the most complex challenges to peace and security in Central Asia.

SRSG Jenča thanked President Berdimuhamedow for his support to UNRCCA and expressed hope that such cooperation would be extended to his successor.
