DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager, the incumbent will support the "UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy" project, focused on building capacities for preventive diplomacy among young people throughout Central Asia, including Afghanistan and be responsible for the following duties: 

Training

- Actively participate in the selection process of new participants at the beginning of the training period; 

- Prepare the draft of the yearlong PDA training plan for approval; 

- Communicate and Coordinate the PDA training plan and requirements with the PDA team and the Project activity supervisor; 

- The training materials must be ready/submitted well in advance for endorsement and coordination with UNRCCA; 

- Prepare all necessary training materials and make them available to the course participants (PowerPoint presentations on the subject); 

- Provide the training together with experts when required on topics as per the approved Training Plan; 

- Execute the training course as moderator and resource person; 

- Provide monthly reports on conducted activity, including PDA Alumni network mentoring; 

- Advise and prepare the participation of PDA participants in the Dialogue between PDA and the Central Asian Governments during the UNRCCA-organized high-level meeting of Deputy Foreign Ministers from Central Asia; 

- A final report on the training results shall be submitted two weeks before the end of the Training period. The report's content will be subject to comments, changes, and approval by UNRCCA officials.

Alumni network supervision

- Advise and guide the election of the Regional Coordinator and the Country Focal Points on year basis;

- Provide nexus between the PDA Alumni and PDA in training and training activities

- Promote the PDA Alumni network among UN entities, UN Funds and Programmes to engage PDA Alumni in other YPS activities.  

- Monitor, advise, mentor the PDA Alumni network for the benefits of the PDA training programmatic activity results, and promote the PDA Alumni network for the continuation of graduates' activity in the global youth movement on Youth, Peace and Security Agenda.

Communication and Research

- Drafts routine correspondence; Maintains project files and other related documentation; Coordinates extensively with project counterparts and frequently liaises with internal team members at the mission level.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Education: University Degree in Education, Social Science or Political Science Experience.

Experience: Extensive knowledge of and experience in leadership development and training. Extensive experience in organizational development, public sector reform, and public sector Capacity building.

Languages:  Fluency in Russian, both oral and written, is required; knowledge of Turkmen or other regional languages is desirable. Knowledge of English is an advantage.

Other:  Solid computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheets, are required. Experience working at a UN field mission or UN Agencies in this capacity is desirable.
