Participants explored possible areas of cooperation and cross-fertilization between the Joint Plan of Action (JPoA) on implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy (UNGCTS) in Central Asia and the Counter Terrorism Confidence Building Measure of the Istanbul Process and discussed strategies for bolstering counter-terrorism efforts in Central Asia and the wider Heart of Asia region. During discussions UNRCCA and CTITF also shared their experiences in preparing the JPoA and best practices and gaps in implementing the UNGCTS in Central Asia.
