UNRCCA PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY ACADEMY COMPLETED TWO ONLINE TRAINING SEMINARS

The UNRCCA within its Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) initiative organized two online training seminars in May 2022 for forty-two youth representatives from Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.

The first seminar titled "Working with and for youth" was devoted to the UN Strategy "Youth 2030".

The participants enhanced knowledge about five priority areas designed to improve the lives of young people: attracting young people to solve modern problems; expanding access to education and health care; improving their economic situation; providing conditions for the exercise of their civil and political rights; and support for young people in conflict and crisis.

They also discussed the vision of the United Nations' system-wide Youth Strategy as an umbrella framework that guides the efforts to strengthen its work with and for young people across the three pillars - peace and security, human rights and sustainable development - in all contexts.

Representatives of the Office of UN Secretary-General's Envoy on Youth at UN Headquarters in New York also participated in this session. They reiterated the importance of the message of the UN Secretary-General António Guterres to end wars, protect the environment and rebuild properly after the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second training seminar was dedicated to the youth leadership skills. The listeners gained knowledge about the skills and qualities necessary for a youth leader to set goals for the growth of intrinsic motivation.

In addition, the seminar participants worked out in practice cases of developing efficiency skills in time management and prioritizing the implementation of tasks.
