ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan

On December 19-20, 2024, UNRCCA convened an online meeting of experts of the Central Asian States on water, energy, environment, and climate cooperation. The event brought together representatives from the responsible Ministries of Energy, Water Resources, and Foreign Affairs of Central Asian states, alongside leading experts, to discuss most pertinent topics of regional cooperation in the fields of water, energy and environment with due attention to climate change.

The meeting served as a platform to identify shared priorities and opportunities for enhanced regional collaboration. The dialogue reaffirmed UNRCCA’s role in fostering preventive diplomacy and providing a neutral platform for addressing transboundary water and energy challenges in Central Asia, contributing to peace, security, and sustainable development in the region.
