BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan 

On May 20, SRSG Kaha Imnadze, met with the First Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Asein Isaev, during his visit to Bishkek.

During the meeting, the sides discussed current cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and UNRCCA, including joint efforts in countering terrorism, combating drug trafficking, the climate agenda, as well as the Centre’s activities in 2025.

Mr. Isaev underscored Kyrgyzstan’s commitment to preventive diplomacy and the peaceful settlement of disputes through diplomatic means, recognizing it as a crucial instrument for engagement with international partners. He highlighted the positive dynamics observed in the region, particularly in the political, economic, and humanitarian spheres.

SRSG Imnadze commended the Kyrgyz Republic for its proactive engagement within the United Nations, its leadership in promoting the mountain agenda, and its advocacy for the interests of landlocked developing countries.

Both sides affirmed the effectiveness of Kyrgyzstan’s collaboration with UN agencies, especially UNRCCA, and expressed their readiness to further strengthen this partnership.
