On 29-30 April, senior officials of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan gathered in Vienna, Austria, to discuss issues related to the interpretation and efficient application of key principles of international law in the management of trans-boundary water resources in the Aral Sea basin.

 

This 2nd meeting of senior officials was organized by UNRCCA in cooperation with the World Bank as a follow up to the meeting in the same format held in 2014 in Vienna. Representatives of EC IFAS, UNECE and UNDP were also in attendance.
