The Secretary-General has left New York on Wednesday, seventh of June, for a visit to Central Asia that will take him to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

He held consultations with Vice-prime-minister Jenish Razakov, deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dinara Kemelova as well as met with representatives of the diplomatic corps and the UN country team.

On 27-28 April 2017, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General (SRSG), Head of the UN Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Petko Draganov conducted a visit to Dushanbe for meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Aslov, First Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources Sulton Rahimzoda and diplomatic corps accredited to Tajikistan.
