UNRCCA PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY ACADEMY CONDUCTED TWO ONLINE TRAINING SEMINARS

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan

In accordance with the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) training plan, two online training seminars for young people from Central Asian countries and Afghanistan were held in September 2022 on the following topics:

On 21 September - «Decision-making skills»; 

On 28 September - «Participation of young people in social life».

The first seminar on 21 September focused on improving of skills in finding practical solutions to problematic situations. While studying this seminar's materials, the main objectives were how to apply the tools of assessing the situation, working out the technologies for the development and adoption of a group and individual decisions, and studying factors that influence the policymaking process. The seminar participants discussed the importance of assessing the situation and learned the essence of the decision-making algorithm and formulating the problem's identification. During the workshop, participants made mini-presentations, participated in discussions, contributed to small groups and shared experiences on the practical application of the knowledge gained.

The second seminar, held on 28 September, was dedicated to the Participation of youth in the public life of their countries and the region in maintaining peace and security. The workshop's objectives were to jointly understand youth participation in social life, analyze individual and team volunteer experience, and provide continuing motivation for it. During this seminar, the participants engaged in exercises developing the principles and approaches of youth participation in volunteering and analyzed personal experiences and conditions at the local, regional and national levels.
