Ashgabat, October 18, 2017: UNRCCA attended the 6th round of the Herat Security Dialogue, hosted by the Afghan Institute for Strategic Studies (AISS), which took place in Herat, Afghanistan, on 13-14 October 2017.

Experts, researchers, university professors, politicians, members of civil society and diplomats from 17 countries attended the event.

The main theme of the Security Dialogue was “the future of Nation-States” which was discussed in six panels focusing on the challenges facing Afghanistan at regional and international levels. A special panel was dedicated to the US' New Strategy for Afghanistan and the region.

Herat Security Dialogue is as a regular platform for exchange of opinions and discussion among local, regional and international policy makers on security developments in Afghanistan and neighbouring countries.
