YOUTH, PEACE AND SECURITY AGENDA IS IN THE FOCUS OF CENTRAL ASIAN YOUTH

On 12 June, the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) organized an online seminar on universality of human rights in the field of peace and security. The aim of the seminar facilitated by the Centre’s Human Rights Officer, was to raise awareness of the youth representatives from Central Asia and Afghanistan on the Declaration of Human Rights, its universality and inherent responsibilities of accountable subjects and right holders.
On 14 June, the participants of the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy attended an online training on Public Speaking Skills. A guest speaker - Professor of International Relations, Defense and International Security at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina, lectured participants on tools of self-confidence development, methods to overcome a fear of public speaking, managing an audience's attention, and easy and logical delivery of thoughts. The young people had an opportunity to improve their skills in a competent and convincing way of presenting structuring and conveying information to the audience.
On 27 June, UNRCCA PDA held an online session on Human Security in line with the provisions of UN General Assembly Resolution 66/290, adopted on 10 September 2012. During the seminar, the PDA participants got acquainted with seven key points of the concept of Human Security. During case studies, the participants consolidated their knowledge by discussing practical implementation of the components of Human Security and threats that impact each element of the concept: economic, food, health security, environmental, personal, social and political.
