On September 28, 2023, an online session “Climate Fresk” was held within the framework of the UNRCCA Academy of Preventive Diplomacy.

“Climate Fresk” is an innovative, interactive educational tool designed to learn environmental issues and the science of climate change. The methodology was created based on data presented in the latest report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). It allows to get acquainted with the problems caused by climate change in an accessible form and helps to understand the full picture of this phenomenon by building cause-and-effect relationships of this global process.

According to the joint UN Framework Initiative on Children, Youth and Climate Change, this session was held with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of youth participation in the process of making political decisions in the field of climate change, through developing their creativity, the ability to formulate questions and give answers, increasing motivation to influence their future and play a significant role in preventing the worst impacts of climate change.

Participants of the UNRCCA Preventive Diplomacy Academy also learned about the objectives of the upcoming UN Climate Change Conference (COP-28) and the Youth Conference (COY-18), which will be held in Dubai, UAE.
