BISHKEK, Kyrgyz republic -

Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Miroslav Jenča, visited Bishkek to attend the international conference “Afghanistan-2014: perspectives of developments in Afghanistan, challenges and threats to security in Central Asia in the context of withdrawal of the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF)” organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan under the auspices of the chairmanship in the Collective Security Treaty Organization.

On the sidelines of the conference, SRSG Jenča conducted meetings with Speaker of the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of Kyrgyzstan Asilbek Jeenbekov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev, and CSTO Secretary-General Nikolai Bordyuzha.

During the meetings an exchange of views took place on the current situation and potential developments in Kyrgyzstan, and wider region of Central Asia and Afghanistan.
