On 22-28 September, 2013 SRSG Miroslav Jenča, Head of UNRCCA, conducted a trip to New York to attend the 68th session of the UN General Assembly. On the sidelines of the session he accompanied the UN Secretary-General at the meetings with Heads of delegations of Central Asian countries and held a series of meetings with high-ranking UN officials and other partners.

The SRSG also took part in the Senior Officials Meeting on Afghanistan within the Istanbul process, World Bank information-sharing meeting and High Level Meeting of Kyrgyzstan Development Partners (see UNDP press statement attached).

On 28 September, the SRSG participated in the High-Level Meeting on Central Asia convened by DSG Jan Eliasson on behalf of the UN Secretary-General (see the Statement attributable to the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General  attached).
