BAKU, Azerbaijan -

On 10 and 11 February the Special Representative of the Secretary General and Head of the UNRCCA Jenča visited Baku, Azerbaijan, and met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elmar Mammadyarov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Khalaf Khalafov.

The meetings covered issues such as the negotiations over the status of the Caspian Sea, disarmament and non-proliferation in the region, the fight against drug trafficking and implications from the developments in Afghanistan. Minister Mammadyarov stressed the importance of closer interaction between Azerbaijan and the UNRCCA.
