UNRCCA co-organizes a thematic session on “Climate Security and Health and Environmental Diplomacy" within the framework of the High-level Dialogue on Global Health Diplomacy

On 18 February, in Ashgabat, within the framework of the High-level Dialogue on Global Health Diplomacy, the UNRCCA in partnership with World Health Organization (WHO), organized a thematic session on “Climate Security and Health and Environmental Diplomacy”, presenting expert findings on the subject matter.

UNRCCA’s Water Resources Specialist, Heinz Habegger presented the conference with an overview of impacts of climate change on health, followed by an interactive session, moderated by Deputy Head of UNRCCA Philipp Saprykin and with the participation of the high-level officials from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Türkiye, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.

The exchanges led to meaningful conclusions and recommendations to ensure an enhanced cooperation and trust-building through preventive and health diplomacy.

The session was concluded by a “fireside chat” with SRSG Kaha Imnadze, who shared his experience, vision and views on the relevant topics of the regional agenda through the lens of preventive diplomacy.
