UNRCCA delivers a lecture to Japanese students

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan

On 1 March, the Centre gave a lecture to a group of students of the University of Tokyo as part of the international training course “What students of the University of Tokyo can make for peace?".

The event was opened by the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General (SRSG), Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov and followed by an exchange with students on the role and activities of UNRCCA in responding to existing and emerging challenges to peace and security in the region.

Students were particularly interested in how the UN can promote peace and security across the region, as well as on obstacles to regional cooperation on key issues.
