ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan

On 6 February 2019, in Ashgabat, SRSG Natalia Gherman met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who was in Turkmenistan on an official visit. The meeting provided a good opportunity to discuss regional cooperation in Central Asia in areas such as counter terrorism, transboundary water management, engagement of Central Asian states with Afghanistan.

Minister Lavrov reiterated the importance that the Russian Federation attaches to cooperation with countries of the region and confirmed support of the Russian side to UNRCCA.
