SRSG KAHA IMNADZE VISITS KAZAKHSTAN PEACE OPERATIONS CENTRE (KAZCENT) IN ALMATY
ALMATY, Kazakhstan
On 19 December, Kaha Imnadze, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Central Asia, Head of UNRCCA, visited Kazakhstan Peace Operations Centre (KAZCENT) and had a meeting with the Head of the Centre, Commandant Baurzhan Nigmetullin.
Discussions focused on possible cooperation between UNRCCA and KazCent in the areas of conflict prevention, stabilization and mediation.
The Colonel Nigmatullin praised the activities of the Regional Centre, and SRSG Imnadze noted the high achievements of the Peace Operations Centre since its establishment in 2006.
The sides agreed to work on the organization of joint events in 2024.
