ALMATY, 26 April 2013 -- On 26 April Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Miroslav Jenča attended the "Heart of Asia" Ministerial Conference in Almaty.
DUSHANBE, 25 April 2013 -- On 22-24 April 2013, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary General, Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Miroslav Jenča made a visit to Dushanbe (Tajikistan) to participate in the international seminar “Challenges in addressing the illicit drugs problem in Central Asia in the context of withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan in 2014”, organized by UNRCCA in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and with support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Throughout 2012 the experts from Central Asian states and Afghanistan, as well as the representatives of the UN agencies and regional organizations participated in a range of meetings as a part of “Mutually Acceptable Mechanism on Integrated Use of Water Resources in Central Asia Through Applying a Scenario Approach” project jointly implemented by the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the UN (FAO) in collaboration with the Executive Committee of the International Fund for Saving the Aral Sea (IFAS) to analyze the highly complex structure of the water-agriculture-energy nexus in Central Asia through innovative approaches such as “scenario thinking”.
SEMINAR “CHALLENGES IN ADDRESSING THE ILLICIT DRUGS PROBLEM IN CENTRAL ASIA IN THE CONTEXT OF WITHDRAWAL OF INTERNATIONAL FORCES FROM AFGHANISTAN IN 2014”
ASHGABAT, 22 April 2013 -- A seminar “Challenges in addressing the illicit drugs problem in Central Asia in the context of withdrawal of international forces from Afghanistan in 2014”, organized by UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) in cooperation with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and with support of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, will take place in Dushanbe on 23-24 April 2013.
