UNRCCA PREVENTIVE DIPLOMACY ACADEMY COMPLETED FOUR ONLINE TRAINING SESSIONS

From 28 February to 30 March, the Preventive Diplomacy Academy (PDA) held four online training sessions, which were attended by 43 representatives of all Central Asian countries and Afghanistan.
APD participants attended a course of lectures on the following topics:
- The UN system and the foundations of multilateral cooperation, United Nations Security Council, Youth, Peace and Security strategy, UN Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015) and 2535 (2020).
During this session, the participants had a chance to ask their questions to the Representative of the United Nations Department of Political and Peacebuilding Affairs (DPPA) based in New York.
- Fundamentals of preventive diplomacy, the Peace Agenda, UN preventive diplomacy history of development, its theoretical foundations, methods and ways of implementing preventive diplomacy.
During the training, the participants learned how to draw up a Roadmap for the Action Plan “Meaningful Participation of Youth in Peace Processes.”
- Intercultural communication and foundations of intercultural understanding.
The DPA participants deepened their knowledge of principles of intercultural communication and respect for cultural diversity.
- Intercultural communication skills.
During the classes, young people from Central Asia and Afghanistan performed practical exercises on the formation of a positive attitude towards the basics, values and behavior of representatives of other cultures and on the development of tolerance and the shape of the skill of assertive communication style, as well as on the understanding of communicative symbols.
PDA participants were informed about the topics of the following month's sessions.
