DUSHANBE, Tajikistan -

SRSG Jenča travelled to Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on 28-29 March to take part in the second expert meeting of the project on implementing the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia.

Participants from Central Asian countries, UN agencies, regional organizations as well as Afghanistan, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and the United States discussed measures to prevent and combat terrorism within the framework of the UN Strategy.

The event was co-organized by the UN Counter-Terrorism Implementation Task Force (CTITF) and the European Union working with the UNRCCA. The meeting ended with recommendations for the elaboration of an Action Plan on the implementation of the UN Strategy in Central Asia.
