On 9 September, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Petko Draganov travelled to Tashkent.

On this occasion, he visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and signed the condolence book on the sad demise of the first President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

SRSG Draganov expressed heartfelt sympathies for this loss to the President’s bereaved family, government and people of Uzbekistan.
