Visit of SRSG Miroslav Jenča to Moscow

MOSCOW, Russia -
 
Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General, Head of the Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA), Miroslav Jenča, met with Director of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Victor Ivanov, Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov and Secretary-General of the CSTO Nikolai Bordiuzha on 13-14 October in Moscow.
 
During the meetings an exchange of views took place on topical issues of the regional agenda, including developments in Afghanistan and its possible implications for security in Central Asia as well as on issues related to strengthening regional cooperation in the management of trans-boundary water resources, countering terrorism, extremism, drug-trafficking and organized crime.

The possibility to further strengthen the interaction between UNRCCA, the Russian side and regional organizations aimed at ensuring peace and stability in the region of Central Asia was also discussed.
